It's been A YEAR!

I haven't posted in a year! I'll say what I always say- I'll try to do better. I have a resolution to start taking pictures, doing scrapbooks and posting to the blog, I really will try! (For those of you who know me- I have a scrapbook for every year of our life for almost 15 years together- but I have not put a picture in a scrapbook since Ky's 1st birthday party. Poor kid will wonder what happened to the "lost years"!

Fall 2008

Fall in Colorado is my favorite time of year. The snow capped mountains and colorful trees take your breath away. We've had a good time this year taking day trips into the mountains. We found a little town named Buena Visa that may just be the most beautiful place we've seen yet. We had visitors and went trick-or-treating with friends. Kyle is growing up so fast it is hard to believe another year is coming to a close.

There is no way to keep Kyle inside. He LOVES to be outdoors. Which is good for us! He amazes us by his abilty to hike and climb and his love for all living things. He hugs trees and stops to point out pretty flowers. Will be really still to watch a bird but always chases rabbits.

We spent the 4th of July in Estes Park with Aunt Cindy and Uncle Tom. I thought this was too funny.....I called it the "Red Neck Playpen"!

He started the hike in the backpack, but after throwing up on Ron's head, we let him walk. Those rocks are HUGE for his little legs but he kept up like a pro!

He will climb every obsticle he can find. Rarely stays on the PATH.

I guess he thought he needed a walking stick. He will pick something up...a stick, or rock, or leaf, etc., and carry it for ever!

Visiting PawPaw

We took a short trip to Lake O' The Pines to visit PawPaw and Paula. It was a LONG drive but totally worth it! Kyle had fun on his new Gator, and loved driving the mule with Paw Paw. Ky was spoiled with candy from PawPaw's store. Paula made sure we were well fed. It was a great trip! The trick was trying to get the green gator in the hotel when we stopped for the night!

SUMMER FUN

We've been enjoying the WONDERFUL weather. Usually around 70-75 degrees and perfect sunny blue skies. Ky loves to be outside so we do as much as we can outdoors. There is a super cool zoo near us and we made a trip last week. Ky had been last year, but didn't really get it a year ago. This time he had a blast. He loved the animals and the train and all the fun activities for kiddos. Enjoy! Seriously, I'm horrible at keeping up! It has been a few months of big change. We are no longer in Winter Park, we have moved down the mountain to Colorado Springs. We are both in new jobs and doing great. Kyle has started a new school and is settling in. We are getting use to being parents to a 2 year old...wow....a challenge! Our conversations go something like this...."Kyle, do you want to eat dinner?" "NO!"...."Kyle, are you ready for a bath?" "NO!". We hear "NO!" a lot. But he does say "WUV YOU" a lot, so he is a sweet boy under it all. Here are a few pics of our little man growing up tooooo fast.

Christmas 2008

Christmas with Ky was a BLAST this year! Ky really enjoyed opening his gifts and playing with his new toys. We made a very quick trip to Texas mid December to see the grandparents and then spent a white christmas here in Colorado. Hope the holidays were good for each of you and we wish you a very happy and healthy New Year!

Ky had a party at School and we did a miniture buffett. Kyle helped himself to the veggies......taking a carrot, chewing it, and spitting it back into the veggie plate...NICE!

WINTER FUN

The winter has landed on us! We have seen several feet of snow in the last few weeks. It is BEAUTIFUL! We are enjoying playing in the powder. Some days it is so soft you can't even make a snowball! Kyle LOVES the snow. Loves to sled and tackle snowmen. Here are some pics of us having fun!
